RANIA MATAR
Born and raised in Lebanon, Rania Matar moved to the U.S. in 1984. Originally trained as an architect at the American University of Beirut and at Cornell University, she studied photography at New England School of Photography and Maine Photographic Workshops. Over the past few years she completed Ordinary Lives, A Girl and Her Room, and L’Enfant-Femme all published into books. She is currently working extensively on two bodies of work: Invisible Children, about the Syrian Refugees in Lebanon, and Unspoken Conversations, a project about Mothers and Daughters. An ongoing project is photographing her four children at all stages of their lives. She teaches photography at Massachusetts College or Art and Design.
